Greatest Uncle Shirt

My neighbor's friend taught me how to take a picture and turn into into a cartoon like picture to then use it as a stencil (did you follow all that?!) :) Anyways, I loved it. It was fun, but hard to do.
While on our vacation my husbands brother had his birthday. We decided to make him a very cheesy shirt to wear all day while we were out in public! It was well worth it.

I made the faces with freezer paper that I cut out with an exacto knife, then ironed it on the shirt and then painted over it with fabric paint. The words were done by my cricut.

Framed Hanging Ornaments Mod-Podge Style

This is so cute. I fell in love with paper mache ornaments when I did my Halloween tree this last year. They are easy and fun, but a big mess...but it is worth it.

Here are how mine turned out. I don't like my blue frame. It is going to go a distressed white.

I also put some of the ornaments on my garland with some little bells, trumpets, and presents I made to match. I think it looks pretty good!

I love this. I might add a little color when I do it, we'll see.

I also love this. It's made with candle stick holders as well.

Domino Art

What a fun, creative, cheap way to decorate. I want to make my basement a little more "gamey". This is perfect!

Mod Podge your Silk Screen Shirt

So I've been learning more and more about mod podge. It is simply amazing. Here you use mod podge to help you create a slik screen shirt. It took me a few times of reading through the directions, but I finally got it, see that it's simple, and love the results.

Crafty Weekend

I crafted like crazy and here are some of the results. I am very very happy with them.
I love how many Halloween tree turned out so much....

that I had to make one for my niece!

These metalic pumpkins turned out really well. I pull a little of my black jewelry on them for a little sparkle.

My mom showed me this from a magazine. She made a pattern and so I of course needed one too.

The Boo banner was so cute...

that I had to make an Eek banner too.

Halloween Ornaments

I love these. They are easy to make and the result is fantastic. You could do this for any holiday. I am seeing a tree for Valentine's, Easter, St. Patty's, Fourth of July...
Just cover your old christmas ornaments with strips of newspaper that were soaked in 1 part mod podge, 1 part water. Let them dry and then paint. You could add glitter, beads, gems....
If you don't have any ornaments in storage check DI. They always have them and for super cheap!

Kids Board

I love this quote and I love this board. What a cute idea. I am sorry that I don't remember where I got it.

I got this from the same place, I remember that much. Such a great quote!

Caterpillar Craft

I saw this idea on a blog and I loved it. It was a fun craft to do with my boys. You just cut an egg carton up, paint it, slit holes for straw or pipe cleaner antenea, glue on some eyes and pom-poms. The hardest part about it was waiting for it to dry so they could play with it! :)

I think we are going to make a snake too. I will probably do some glitter diamonds on it and a felt tongue. I will update this post when we make it so check back.

Bleeding Candles and A Sppoky Banner

This was such a clever idea. They're called "Bleeding Candles". You just spray paint a red candle black, light it and let the red drip down. Easy and fun.

This was a really fun banner I saw on that same blog. I love the fabrics. She also added ribbon and little halloween doo-dads to it. It looks great!

Wooden Spool Dolls

These are soooooo cute. I want to make some of these. It would be fun to start building your own "town people", family, etc. I little something personal for the kids. I look back and always LOVE the things that my mom had made. I want to get back to that. I think we've kind of lost that in our generation!

Play Kitchen

This play kitchen

was made from this entertainment center.

I've seen so many of these at garage sales and my just have to pick on up. What a creative and clever way to make the best kitchen I've seen. I don't have any girls yet, but I will definately keep this one in mind. The cupboards are just spray painted silver. I will just need to find an old sink...hum...I don't know where to get one of those, but it can't be too hard!

Thanksgiving Crafts

I love this idea for a pumpkin placecard for Thanksgiving Dinner. I'm not sure I would just paint mine solid gold, but I do love the idea. I would probably do mine like the Metallic Pumpkin post I have. Check out Martha's Ideas.
Here's the place card

Here's the glitter pumpkins. These last forever. They can last from before Halloween until Christmas!

This pumpkin garland is so adorable. I am definately doing this for the fall.

This pumpkin chandelier is amazing. I love it.

Boo Banner

I love this burlap boo banner. It is very simple and uses the freezer paper-fabric paint-cricut thing I just learned a little bit ago! Check it out here.

Bird Nest Gift/Storage Boxes

I love these. I am gling to be doing a black/white/lime green bird theme in my craft room and this would be so perfect in those colors. I think it would also make it look a little more updated in the more contempory colors as well. Check out the how to here.

File Cabinets Re-Vamped

If you are anything like me you have a lot of files...okay, so it's probably just me. I guess it's from my old teaching days. These file cabinet make overs are great. I usually get my filing cabinets from DI so they are pretty beat up and ugly. I want to do this to make them fashionable and cute.

Here's the first. It was done with 3 rolls of wrapping paper.

Here's the second. It was done with about 2-3 yards of fabric.

And here's the third. It was done with wallpaper.

Here's another done with wrapping paper.

Menu Board

I love this. I always like to plan out our meals so that when I go to the store I only buy what I need. I know when kids get older they always ask, "what's for dinner?" I think this would be a fun way to tackle the meal thing....and it's cute. It is just a 3 frame with a little half wood box at the bottom for markers and erasers.

Metallic Pumpkins

I am going to have so many pumpkins around my house with all the cute pumpkin ideas I am finding...and the best thing about it is I have a bunch of pumpkins I am only half in love with to play around with. I love the look of this one, and it is super cheap and easy. I am finding that I love to copy Pottery Barn stuff.

My Dining Room

Yes, I am changing things again. I can't help it. It still hasn't got the "it" factor, but it's getting there and these latest projects have helped out so much. I love how they turned out.
I re-vamped my old window and then did up this clock and tray I had to match. I love it!
